Video Slide Show Tips

Organizing your pictures and ideas

After selecting your photos, (75 max at listed price) number them with a ball point pen on the back, 1-end. When you start on a new segment, continue the numbers ie do not start at 1 again. A segment is the Brides photos, Grooms photos and your together photos, which totals 3 segments. You can do things differently if you want to, no problem. Decide where you want the music to go, and give us a note with that info. Example: photos 1-27- Roberta flack-"first time I saw your face" (cut #4) (Pls. cue at beginning of lyrics)**or if you dont specify, we will start at the very beginning of song. Pics 28-49-Billy Joel "New York state of mind", etc. We ask for 2 songs per segment, which totals 6 songs, just in case one doesn’t make it through the segment. If one song can make it through the entire segment, we will run just that one song. Please indicate your first song choice for each segment.

The first thing to consider is the overall plan, which means you need to create "SEGMENTS", or groups of photos that make sense, and have emotional impact. If you went on a trip, you might consider making a vacation segment. Or maybe you share a common activity together, such as kayaking, or 4-wheeling, or dancing. If you have at least 10 photos, make it into a segment. 20 plus photos is much better, but 10 is enough if it is really exciting & interesting. Remember that every segment has music, and you do not want to fade out a song after only 1 minute unless that segment is really exciting and a "must see". One customer designed an incredibly interesting slideshow that incorporated their son into the show in a different way. The slide show starts off with the Bride from childhood, and moving forward in time, ending on about 7-10 shots of her with baby. Then the show goes into the Groom's childhood, moving forward in time, and ending on 7-10 shots of him and baby. Many comedic shots and dramatic shots were used with tremendous effectiveness. You can't have too many funny and weird shots. Your audience loves comical shots, and touching shots, but don't make the mistake of having too few comical shots!! Anyway, the slideshow ends on the couple together, using the same "motif", or design of introducing them, and progressing into baby. The whole show was well orchestrated because they took the time to think it all out. Your situation is probably totally different then theirs, but I guarantee you, if you lay out all your photos on the coffee table, or carpet, and look at them with a vision of designing them into segments, you will come up with some very creative ideas. Don't be ridgid, don't get locked into one way to do it. Have fun, and be totally open to the possibilities, and don’t feel bad if you want to do it the common way of Bride, Groom and us together segments. It is common because it works!

After selecting your pics, number them with a ball point pen on the back, 1-end, putting each segment into its own envelope or holder of some description. Make the numbering continous- ie do not start at 1 again when starting on a new segment. Call or
email with your questions. We need your photos numbered, your music and whatever other requests you might have.
